“Quit Drinking” – I thought that’s all I had to do, as simple as that! I certainly wasn’t prepared for going on a discovery journey of self-reflection examining my behavioural patterns and coping mechanisms. I wasn’t prepared for my entire life changing!

A new way of life is what was promised to me before I went to Tabor Group if I gave it an honest shot and a new way of life is what I have. I’m certain without them I wouldn’t be where I am today.

With the help of Tabor Group’s meetings for families, I grew and learned from them. To anyone in a similar situation, I would say: Don’t just think about it – go to Tabor Group’s Family Support Programme.

Thanks to my weekly Tabor Group meetings and one-to-one counselling sessions, I feel like I’m finally getting my life back on track. I feel content and I believe that I am making the right choices. I am in a good place right now and I intend on keeping it that way.

My time in Tabor Group taught me how to love myself again and gave me the necessary tools to maintain my recovery. It taught me how to live a fulfilling life again, without the need of a drink or a drug which I never once in a million years thought I could do.

I have a good life today. I went back to education, am employed and a father to two children. My life has transformed and I will forever be grateful to Tabor Lodge and Tabor Fellowship.

I owe my life to Tabor Fellowship House for what it has done for me and my family.

It is so daunting and fearful to be told you need to go for treatment, that I thought I would let you know what it’s like to go to Renewal for extended treatment

In recovery, I have been able to do all the things I always wanted to do but never could. When I was in Fellowship House, my counsellor told me that if I stayed clean I could do anything I wanted in my life and today that promise is being realised.
